Chandler Macleod is currently recruiting for an experienced Copywriter to join a leading Federal Government agency. This is an immediate start with a contract term of 12 months.
Based in Wollongong, this agency is tasked with being responsible for providing Australia's national charting service through hydrographic, charting, oceanographic and meteorology services.

Key Accountabilities:
In this position you will be responsible for delivering a new nautical publication for the agency, based on a similar publication. This document will be an approved final draft in MS Word format.
The elements of this tasking include:
  • Prepare a project schedule of agreed timeframes and deadlines
  • Research information to be included in the publication through liaison with Australian and Solomon Island stakeholders;
  • Write and deliver new content as required
  • Sub-edit copy produced in conjunction with other contributors, ensuring consistency of tone and language between new and existing copy
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to make revisions, fact-check, and finalise content for approval
  • Comply with relevant writing standards and style guides
  • Manage the document through an appropriate internal approvals process
  • Prepare document for layout and printing

Evaluation Criteria:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in long content writing and documentation drafting.
  • Demonstrated experience in the project management of publication production to meet deadlines.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, in particular InDesign and Acrobat
  • Ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders on complex topics
  • Previous experience working in government/Defence environment
  • Excellent writing, research and editing capabilities
  • Ability to work as part of a team whilst being autonomous and proactive
