Position title: Manager Walking and Cycling Strategy - Government
Contract Estimation Duration: 3-4 Month Contract - Possibility of Extension(s)

Purpose of this position:
Primary purpose of the role
The Manager - Walking and Cycling develops and promotes the NSW Government's walking and cycling
strategies and policies and ensure their application across the Transport cluster.

General Requirements:
Key accountabilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of strategies and programs related to cycling and other urban strategies to move people in NSW.
  • Lead the partnership with other government agencies, local government authorities, user groups and the general public in developing strategies and programs in relation to walking and cycling.
  • Provide advice on walking and cycling networks and systems innovations to contribute to the efficiency, productivity, safety and environmental performance of the road transport system.
  • Monitor and provide information and advice on the current and projected required infrastructure for both short and longer term goals.
  • Lead the development of integrated strategies benefiting the entire road transport system.
  • Ensure that these strategies both inform and are consistent with Future Transport and other Government priorities and identify solutions to achieve a safer, more reliable, efficient and sustainable road transport system.
  • Taking a strategic approach to transport planning that ensures a sound basis for sustainable long term growth, improved customer outcomes and value for money
  • Ensuring walking and cycling plans are underpinned and informed by robust analysis and modelling of population growth, transport demand, employment patterns and other relevant variables
  • Managing complex projects that require sustained and focused leadership and negotiating solutions across organisational boundaries


    Education:
    Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
