About the Position:

You will lead a team of technical and business professionals responsible for the delivery of strategic asset and data management services to the Water and Waste Directorate. You will be an experienced and enthusiastic professional that has a passion for effective asset management, process efficiency and improvement, and you will drive, lead, and influence a strong asset management culture throughout the business.

The team coordinates the delivery of Water and Waste Asset Management Plans including condition assessment, renewal planning, technical standards and level of service and infrastructure risk management. The team is also responsible for the management of water and waste infrastructure asset data.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a framework linking strategic asset management with tactical/operational infrastructure asset management
  • Drive technology and process improvements to enable the implementation of a geometric utility network and renewals planning tools
  • Drive asset and maintenance management improvements by reviewing asset and maintenance management practices, establishing improvement priorities and tracking progress
  • Manage scheduled updates to a suite of Asset Management Plans and associated asset management planning documents
  • Coordinate Infrastructure Asset Revaluations
  • Manage SEQ Design & Construction Code matters for water and sewerage infrastructure assets and management of the approved products and materials listing process and list
  • Provide asset management leadership and subject matter expertise for major contracts relating to the Asset Lifecycle Delivery Services and Resource Recovery Services initiatives
  • Drive the development of data management and capability across Water and Waste
Experience:
  • You are a natural leader, who champions change and develops people to reach their personal and organisational goals
  • You have extensive experience working in a dynamic infrastructure environment responsible for the successful delivery of strategic asset management functions
  • You can clearly and influentially articulate a vision, and encourage and support others while building trusted relationships
  • You have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, not only ensure that you lead your team in accordance with the City's Values and behaviours, but that you are able to articulate complex issues and associated solutions, convey ideas, and deliver value to the business
