Chandler Macleod is working with a leading organisation who currently have an exciting employment opportunity for an experienced Capital Works Asset Manager to join their team in a contract capacity.

As The Manager Capital Works and Asset Management you will lead, direct and manage the capital project and asset operations of the Mid North Coast Local Health District (LHD), to ensure delivery of high quality, safe health services for patients/clients in line with NSW Health strategic directions and LHD operational plans as well as,

  • Lead and manage the effective business and strategic asset planning and operational management of assets for the MNCLHD
  • As nominated Principal Representative of Capital projects, develop and lead project delivery to achieve project outcomes that support clinical services.
  • Responsible for program management of all capital asset and minor works programs/projects for the MNCLHD.
  • Ensure asset procurement processes are in line with Government Policy maximising opportunities for the MNCLHD in the terms of price, quality, timeliness, maintenance and life cycle management.
  • Ensure that the maintenance of LHD assets are managed appropriately and meet legislative and statutory requirements for delivery of health services.
  • Provide strategic and operational advice to the Chief Executive and Senior Executive Team related to the functional areas of Asset Management.
  • Exercise control and be directly accountable for expenditure and resources to ensure they are acquired and utilised in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Develop and implement functional operational plans for Asset services for the LHD that align to the LHD strategic objectives and the state strategic plans, to ensure health services outcomes are achieved.
  • Manage competing priorities and demands within the complex executive environment and to effectively engage with key stakeholders, contractors and suppliers in the efficient and safe delivery of clinical services.
  • Role model and lead culture of excellence based on the organisations values to ensure the organisation delivers focused quality customer service.


Requirements for the role:

  • Tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated equivalent knowledge in Project Management, Facility Management and Contract Management.
  • Demonstrated ability and knowledge in strategic planning processes, with reference to service planning and the asset planning activities and processes associated with those services
  • Proven competence in risk management and change management and in the delivery of outcomes leading to increased efficiency and effectiveness in dynamic and challenging environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of planning and management policies, professional practice and guidelines relating to the provision of assets to directly support service delivery
  • Proven competence in Project Management and Contract Management with the delivery of significant capital projects in a health services environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement organisational occupational health and safety direction and achieve objectives in line with legislative requirements
  • Current Class C driver's License
