Our client, Baiada is an iconic Australian business that is renowned for its premium chicken & poultry products. The role of Maintenance Supervisor will work in their on-site factory at their Laverton North (VIC) cooked facility.

About the role
In this role you will primarily be responsible for the budgeting, planning and implementation of all preventative and emergency maintenance and procurement and installation of plant, equipment, buildings, and infrastructure associated with the operation of the plant. You will need to have a strong dedication to safety, and a leadership attitude as this role will involve managing maintenance staff.

You will be responsible for:
  • Ensuring the maintenance department operates efficiently
  • Ensuring compliance of Baiada's safety policies and procedures and other statutory and legal requirements
  • Managing staff and resources to ensure maintenance requests are prioritised appropriately to meet business needs and expectations
  • Driving and modelling a leadership style and behaviour that supports a safety culture at all times
  • Managing department budgets ensuring costs and expenditure are in line with forecasts
  • Facilitating leadership and capability through effective coaching and mentoring
  • Managing people to deliver exceptional service

About you
We are looking for someone who is adaptable to changing situations, shows a dedication to leading a team, and can make quick and correct decisions on the job. It would be highly advantageous for the successful candidate to have had prior experience in a similar role, an incredible work ethic and the ability to hit the ground running in this extremely busy role.

You will have:
  • Structured leadership training including conflict resolution and problem solving.
  • Extensive experience, preferably in management, in all facets of maintenance of an intensive food
  • processing plant or similar.
  • Structured training in all facets of WHS including contractor management.
  • Trade qualifications in a related discipline.
  • Excellent people management skills.
  • Certificate IV in Frontline Management or equivalent.
  • Must be permanent resident of Australia or Australian citizen (legally entitled to work in Australia)
