About the role
We are partnering with a renowned Australian organisation, one of Australia's leading mining providers of surface, underground and maintenance services to blue chip mining houses across the SE Asia region. We have an immediate need for an accomplished Maintenance Planner | Scheduler to provide support within the Underground Mining Unit, based in Perth.

This assignment will cover a period of 6 months, on a Monday - Friday roster, with possibility of full-time at the conclusion of the contract.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Based on the priorities, available hours and resources available, develop the Workshop short term and long term plans/schedules, ensuring the plan is communicated with all stakeholders
  • Identify scope, work steps, resources and equipment required to achieve planned jobs
  • Foresee and eliminate potential delays through accurate planning and scheduling.
  • Assist in the preparation of forecast budgets
  • Communicate with external service providers to meet company requirements including management of external WIP
  • Adhere to and promote compliance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act and company values of Safety, Teamwork, Prosperity, Integrity and Environment
  • Ability to create, maintain and be able to "talk to" Gantt charts, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and ERP systems such as SAP

To be successful in this role, you will require the following work experience:

  • 5-10 years mining maintenance experience with a minimum of 2 years in planning or scheduling disciplines
  • Experience in major shut downs or component rebuilds
  • Direct experience with heavy mobile equipment maintenance
  • OEM Warranty experience
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage fluctuating workloads and prioritize accordingly
  • Highly developed communication skills (interpersonal, written and verbal)
  • Not essential - hold a Trade Qualification - Heavy Diesel Mechanic and knowledge on Caterpillar equipment
  • Not essential - Completion of Certificate IV Project Management
  • Previous experience using OEM parts systems with CAT, Hitachi, Komatsu, Cummins
