A Maintenance Manager is required for an immediate start, to carry out a wide range of responsibilities across the business for one of Australia's largest poultry producers. This large poultry producer is well known for its production of premium products including the much-loved Steggles and Lilydale free range brands.
At our Clients' Poultry Plant in Tamworth, an opportunity currently exists for a permanent full-time Maintenance Manager for an immediate start.
The Successful Applicant will report to the Site Manager and will have direct working relationships with the Production Manager/Supervisor, Distribution Manager/Supervisor, Production Planner, Poultry contractors and suppliers, site compliance co-coordinators and other Poultry processing sites as required.
Some Key Responsibilities Include:
• Responsible for budgeting, planning and implementation of plant preventative and emergency maintenance, and in association with head office engineering.
• Provide clear direction to the maintenance team and manage their performance in line with company objectives.
• Supervision of other areas of the plant as agreed with the Site Manager on WHS & Safety related matters and working to the company’s standards including Minimum Operating Standards, the Quality Management System, HACCP, Good Manufacturing Policy, Workplace Injury Management System, the Environment Management System and Work Health and Safety System.
• Ensure all work on the site is carried out in a safe manner to adhere to Poultry budgets, standards, and systems.
• Recruitment and retention of maintenance staff.
Critical Skills and Experience Required:
• Excellent planning skills particularly in relation to control of a maintenance workforce through a daily production process with overlaps several shifts.
• Structured leadership training including conflict resolution and problem solving.
• Ability to use hard copy and computer-based maintenance schedules on a weekly, daily and hourly basis.
• Extensive experience, preferably in a Maintenance Management role.
• Knowledge of food processing industry.
• Ability to make quick and correct decisions under pressure and throughout a production day.
