Chandler Macleod, partnered with one of Australia's largest food manufacturing companies, are currently hiring for the position of Maintenance Fitter / Machine Setter for an ongoing assignment in Kensington. This role is a DAY SHIFT role with set working hours between 7am-4pm with OT and Saturday shifts available for motivated tradespeople. This role will turn into a full time contract for the right candidate after a 3-6 month probation period, depending on experience. You MUST have a trade qualification in Fitting & Turning / Mechanical Fitting to be considered for this role.

The Maintenance Mechanical Fitter is responsible for:
  • Fabricating, assembling and fitting parts to machinery and industrial equipment.
  • Installing, maintaining and repairing a range of machinery and industrial tools including their mechanical and hydraulic components.
  • Conducting work in a safe manner and demonstrating a strong commitment to SDI's values of passion, accountability, respect, teamwork, and innovation.

    Specific Responsibilities:
  • Fault-finds, repairs, maintains machines and equipment
  • Completes planned and breakdown maintenance activities
  • Ensures minimal downtime of machines
  • Maintains a high level of work and strong attention to detail
  • Follow all SOP's
  • Report to Maintenance Manager and Maintenance staff
  • Communicate with machine operators and supervisors.
