About the Position:

A great opportunity for a candidate who has an interest in waste management and resource recovery with relevant landfill engineering experience and financial awareness. This role will have you working with the operational teams to help maintain compliance with site operating licences and regulatory controls, with a strong focus on environment and WHS risk management.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Work with landfill operations to develop waste filling plans and monitor operational practices to ensure best practice filling and compaction is achieved.
  • Contract Management, including overseeing the Landfill Gas Management Contract.
  • Delivery of minor civil works across all landfill sites.
  • Active and ongoing monitoring and control of site-based risks. Assist with the Development and monitoring/maintaining of site operational plans.
  • Assist with waste volumes and regulatory compliance with waste types, volumes, and Waste Levy implications.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to help with the delivery of best practice landfill facilities for the City with a commitment toward zero harm.
Experience:
  • Qualifications and/or 5 years experience in landfill operations, with a good understanding of landfill engineering principles.
  • Hold a valid White Card (general construction card) and "C" class driver's licence.
  • Project Management skills in the delivery of minor civil/engineering works.
  • Experience using MS Project or other corporate Project Management software.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Highly developed analytical, problem-solving and investigative skills to provide recommendations and influence project outcomes.
  • Ability to plan, organise, prioritise and manage resources to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Outcome-driven, focusing on solutions and continuous improvement, with demonstrated project management skills.
