Chandler Macleod are excited to be working with a family owned and operated company specialising in the design and erection of managed scaffolding and temporary fencing. Our client is committed to providing scaffolding and safety solutions to residential, commercial, civil and industrial customers throughout New South Wales. As a result our client has worked with leading construction and maintenance companies on some of Australia's largest infrastructure, including the Australian Rail Track Corporation Ltd (ARTC), Transport, Roads & Maritime (RMS) & Local councils to carry out vital maintenance to rail bridges, highway overpasses and town reservoirs.

Business is growing and our client is looking for a new permanent team member in the position of Labour Supervisor.

About the role:

The purpose of the Labour Supervisor is to Supervise all branch labour and transport operations.

Your Skills and Experience:


  • Provide leadership, direction, supervision, and training to Lead Hands, Scaffolders, Yardmen and Truck Drivers
  • Monitor scaffold and yard crews to ensure they are working to company procedures and standards
  • Track and expedite the flow of labour and material in accordance with the calendar
  • Communicate between the office and client site representatives
  • Roster, record, and report staff hours for the purpose of wages
  • Record and report all work carried out daily and as per Thomas Scaffolding procedures
  • Facilitate toolbox meetings and other health and safety initiatives and training
  • Ensure injury management procedures are adhered to
  • Investigate hazard, incident, accident and near miss reports and implement actions for improvement
  • Identify and report non-conformance issues
  • Be involved in the suggestion, development, and implementation of improved company processes to increase productivity and profitability


  • Supervise the erection, modification and dismantling of scaffolding as per Australian Standards, project scopes and company procedures
  • Conduct scaffold inspections and audits
  • Draw scaffolding plans and prepare take offs when necessary
  • Interpret and communicate plans, drawings and written instructions and comply with project specifications to complete works
  • Meet team quality and productivity targets in erecting and dismantling scaffolding


  • Ensures correct storage and handling of scaffolding material
  • Conducts monthly Yard Housekeeping Assessments ensuring compliance and raising and resolving corrective actions where applicable

Your Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years' experience in a Scaffolding Supervisory role within residential, commercial, construction, mining, oil and or gas related industries
  • Highly effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong issue resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience in managing rosters and resourcing requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and achieve job/project outcomes
  • Warehouse and logistics experience
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Able to work effectively in an autonomous capacity or within a team environment
