Chandler Macleod are recruiting a  Junior Project Manager, to sit within the Workforce and Operational Planning Program for a Federal Government Client.
The initial contract is until June 2023 with scope to extend to December 2023.
Daily rate is negotiable depending on experience.
The Workforce and Operational Planning Stream is responsible for the delivery of an operational workforce.
The Junior Project Manager role will assist with the development and coordination of the implementation of all tasks of the Workforce and Operational Planning Stream, in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders and Program Team. The role will coordinate, track and provide reports on the progress of key deliverables for the work conducted under the Workforce and Operational Planning stream. Key deliverables of the stream include recruitment, delivery of training, resource deployment, operational readiness planning, testing and go live, implementation of a precinct model and providing input into the design aspects of the build as relevant to operational planning and workforce.
The role requires project management experience or experience in large project/program environments, and will involve working with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to:
  • Facilitate the planning, scheduling and implementation of the assigned project deliverables, including through development and management of work packages and tracking of dependencies;
  • Assist with the development of program related documentation that may include Project (work stream) Initiation Documents (PIDs), Statements of Work, Delivery Plans, Costings, Rough Order of Magnitude, and other associated planning, engagement and communications documents.
  • Highlight as appropriate risks and issues (relating to project deliverables) including identification and implementation of mitigations, and addressing issues to ensure that the project team is able to focus on delivery;
  • Facilitate and ensure stakeholder engagement and ongoing relationship management is maintained;
  • Work collaboratively with other project teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver required project and program outcomes and benefits;
  • Provide accurate, timely and transparent reporting for a variety of stakeholders;
  • Contribute to the monitoring and management of expenditure, ensuring targets are met and escalating deviations from agreed tolerances in accordance with the project plan;
  • Assist with planning, coordinating and delivering meetings and provide secretariat responsibilities or functions as required;
  • Project governance and other activities as required.
