About the organisation:
Our Federal Government client is responsible for managing and implementing the Seasonal Worker Programme (SWP), that assist Australian employers in the horticulture and agriculture sectors and employers in selected locations in the accommodation sector to have access to a reliable seasonal workforce.


About the role:
An unparalleled opportunity has arisen for an efficient and effective team player to help shape and implement the 'on the ground' engagement with seasonal workers typically from Pacific Island and Timor-Leste communities. You will collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve enormous positive influence on the lives of seasonal workers assisting with harvest requirements across regional Victoria.

This role is available in 3 of our client's sites: Bendigo, Adelaide and Darwin.

Key Duties:

  • Design and execute tailored seasonal worker welfare and engagement programs focusing on deploying international workers (Pacific focus) into seasonal worker roles
  • Communication directly with seasonal workers (often with limited English language skills) in relation to welfare matters, and engage with Approved Employers to find solutions and.
  • Undertaking record keeping activities, including adhering to process guidelines and standard operating procedures within agreed timeframes.


Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a range of cultural environments and communicate sensitively and effectively with people of Cultural and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) backgrounds (e.g. Pacific Islands and Timor Leste')
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage complex stakeholder relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects and achieve deliverables in line with agreed timelines
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • Tertiary Qualifications within a relevant disciple is desirable but not essential.
  • Public speaking skills desirable
