The Opportunity

Chandler Macleod is currently recruiting for an experienced Project Officer to join a leading Federal Government agency. This is an immediate start with a contract term of 12 months.

The APS6 Insights and Reporting Officer is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents.

The APS6 Insights and Reporting Officer will provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. It may be required to coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the client's objectives.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Interpreting qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources.
  • Conducting qualitative and quantitive research and evaluation activities to provide information on engagement outputs, outcomes, and impacts.
  • Translating engagement requirements into objectives, measures, and outcomes.
  • Delivering analysis, insights, and recommendations to support teams and decision-makers to make evidence-based and data-informed decisions.
  • Improving the communication of data through creative storytelling and visualisation to multiple audience groups.
  • Producing reports and dashboards to monitor performance, outcomes, and impact of engagement activities.
  • Providing specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders.
  • Preparing draft written material including business cases, plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation.
  • Using analysis tools and software (e.g. NVivo, Power BI).

The ideal candidate should have experience in:

  • Design qualitative and quantitative research in a marketing, communications, or engagement context
  • Analysing and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data to develop insights
  • Support business areas to develop, implement, and measure outcomes and impact
  • Present data to a variety of audiences, including data visualisation and accessibility
  • Prepare written materials such as reports, dashboards, business cases, and briefing notes.
