Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an EL1/2 Independent Audit Reform Manager - Compliance on a contract for 6 months with potential extension.

Position Overview

Our Client is looking to hire an experienced professional to manage the reform project, working closely with the Compliance Operations - Audit team Director.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • reviewing and modifying the conditions imposed on investors requiring independent annual audit reports to ensure they meet the desired intent and are legally sound.
  • refining external guidance material for investors to make the program's processes, expectations, and requirements clearer and improve the quality of documentation submitted for Treasury review; and
  • setting up internal infrastructure (including process and practice documents) and building internal capability to allow Treasury staff to effectively manage independent audits smoothly, while meeting the desired level of compliance assurance.
  • oversee several audit proposals reviews and audit report reviews as part of their management of the reform of the program

Skills & Experience:

  • Qualifications in accounting or auditing (and preferably law as well).
  • Project management capabilities.
  • Experience implementing compliance regulatory arrangements and a strong understanding of best practice approaches to compliance assurance.
  • Experience supervising compliance assurance engagements, investigations, or due diligence assessments.
  • Understanding of the Australian Standards for Audit Assurance (ASAEs) and audit assurance levels (e.g. limited vs reasonable assurance).

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline security clearance.
