Position title: Hydrographic Geospatial System Manager - Defence - Government
Contract Estimation Duration: 12-month contract - Immediate start (with a possibility of extensions(s))

Salary / Rate: APS6
The successful candidate must have a minimum of Baseline Security Clearance.
Purpose of this position:
The person provides Geospatial Data Support to the Hydrographic Program Section (HPS), undertakes geospatial data management and analysis to support HPS activities including Hydro Scheme planning, foundation datasets, provision of data packs and research and development work ensuring timelines are met,
General Requirements:

  • Manage the Hydro Scheme ESRI Story Maps,
  • Manage the Survey Planning System (SPS),
  • Manage the development of the SPS, specifically collaborating with External Service Providers (ESP) and internal stakeholders to lead the development of ongoing future enhancements and further development stages of the SPS beyond the current Minimum Viable Product, particularly commencing the development of User Interfaces,
  • Manage the Risk Assessment Tool (RAT),
  • Manage the development of enhancements of the RAT, particularly commencing the engagement of ESP for the assessment of RAT improvements.
  • Undertake preparation of documentation for the use and management of SPS, RAT, Hydro Scheme Story Maps and other geospatial data themes.
  • Use experience in Geographic Information Systems to maintain and enhance geospatial databases.
  • Apply knowledge and experience of geospatial analysis information and products to make recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Listen to stakeholders and understand the relationships between business priorities and tasks.
  • Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in team work and group activities.
    Technical Scope:
     Manage Hydro Scheme and Survey Planning systems
     Management of geospatial data in support of HPS activities
     Lead development of future enhancements to the SPS development of User Interfaces.
     Lead development of future enhancements to the Risk Assessment Tool (RAT) and collaborating with External Service Providers.
    Education:
  • Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems.
  • Experience in the development of geospatial data management.
  • Experience in geospatial data management and analysis of geospatial information.

    Desirable
  • Experience with hydrographic surveying or hydrographic data systems.
  • Experience in ESRI GIS software suite.
