Our client is seeking to engage a HVAC Project Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall delivery of each project program, on or ahead of time with all contract deliverables met
  • Assign resources and equipment to deliver the works within budget, time, quality and regulatory standards, monitor and guide workflow, setting daily, weekly and long-term project goals
  • Manage the specialist functions of project design, engineering, procurement and construction, manage the interaction of various disciplines and multiple work streams
  • Review progress against plans, contractual arrangements and delivery milestones to ensure they are on schedule and within quality and cost estimates and take effective remedial action as required
  • Demonstrate leadership in health, safety and environmental management
  • Demonstrate leadership in risk management, compliance and auditing, and ensure legislative, pre-contract and commercial obligations are met including compliance with the relevant Building Code
  • Financial management: ensure strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue, take corrective action in line with authority and reporting frameworks and maximise the profit margin for the project
  • Stakeholder management: ensure that stakeholders are actively engaged and that beneficial relationships between the project and the client, subcontractors, community and other external parties are developed and maintained
  • People management: monitor staff and labour resourcing to ensure the project has the capability to achieve targets, supervise workforce including subcontractors, foster a high-performing team within a positive employee relations environment, carry out employee reviews and agree development plans with direct reports
  • Contribute to new business, continuous improvement and broader business activities; develop strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat business
  • Ensure all relevant work packs are completed at the end of construction activities and a handover is carried out with FM prior to the project DLP commencing
  • Carry out post project reviews ensuring all lessons learned are formally captured and shared with the relevant departments within CCS
  • Other duties within your capabilities as directed
  • Demonstrate principles of workplace equity, safety and injury
  • Comply with the requirements of CCS Policies and Procedures, and other safety management requirements
  • Accept responsibility to act in a safe manner at all times, and to work within the safety systems developed for the workplace
  • Play a positive role in supporting organisational safety which involves promoting and demonstrating safe behaviours and practices, identifying areas for improvement of safe conduct in the workplace, reporting incidents and near misses, and identifying hazards and unsafe acts
  • When visiting other sites, ensure awareness of the safety policy and safety management system requirements for the place of work for the tasks being performed
  • Follow the environmental policies of CCS
  • Provide quality work, on brand and to CCS values
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement systems that enhance the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of the organisation
  • Effectively contribute to CCS organisational outcomes, strategic directions, planning, implementation, evaluation and quality improvement
  • Effectively represent CCS in a range of settings
  • Work as an effective member of the CCS team including building relationships across CCS to achieve organisational outcomes
  • Develop a program of personal education relative to this position and undertake relevant training
  • Maintain a personal time management system to ensure deadlines are met; to ensure that other staff are given due notice and time to comply with deadlines so that their own personal planning is not inconvenienced

Our Ideal candidate will have:

  • Construction General Induction (White) Card
  • Asbestos Awareness certification
  • Current drivers' licence
  • Demonstrated experience in managing construction projects
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and drive work programs
  • Demonstrated ability to manage costs and forecast in line with project budgets
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge across large scale fabrication installation
  • Knowledge across contracts and scopes of work
  • Demonstrated knowledge of creating and maintaining a safe workplace
  • Strong work ethic
  • Culturally aware, inclusive in approach and respectful of others at all times
  • Organised, flexible with good time management
  • Commitment to collaborative working relationships, and has the initiative and drive to improve workplace processes
  • Ability to sustain physical labour
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal guidance
  • Minimum 3- 5 years' experience in commercial construction project management
  • Construction General Induction (White) Card
  • Asbestos Awareness certification
  • Current drivers' licence
  • Ability to manage costs and forecast project budgets
  • Ability to develop and drive work programs
  • Professional and self-motivated
  • Positive approach to change and process improvement
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Qualifications in project management
  • Previous experience with HVAC
