Human Resources Officer
ASAP start for the right candidate
$40 per hour plus super
Temporary 6 month assignment with a possibility to an extension.
Located in Doncaster


One of our biggest clients within the government sector is currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Officer to join their HR department located in Doncaster.

ROLE PURPOSE
A credible activist who works collaboratively to support a safe, capable, accountable and engaged workforce through the provision of consistent and credible people services which support the organisation's operational success and employee experience.

The successful candidate will be required to contact relevant casual staff, using a script, to confirm days they were absent in relation to covid and note dates for payroll. Contacting casual staff that have been absent from work, due to COVID, to confirm dates away from the workplace, to enable correct back pay to be calculated.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Jointly supports both Operational and People Services objectives through the establishment of administrative support, guidance, analysis and advice on People & Culture policies, practices and relevant legislation so as to provide integrated, consistent and effective delivery of HR support services
  • Provides HR Services across the entire employee lifecycle, assessing needs and implementing appropriate service delivery to ensure initial advice, service and referral is completed efficiently
  • In consultation with P&C management provide follow up advice and support relating to position evaluation outcomes and salaries, including provision of advice regarding appropriate salary levels for positions, position evaluations and prepared and stored documentation
  • Produce accurate, high quality written communication
  • Ensure the appropriate authorisation and documentation processes are followed in relation to a variety of HR processes


QUALIFICATION

  • Tertiary qualification in HR or related discipline is preferred.


ROLE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in a generalist HR Officer position, preferably across the public sector.
  • Proven ability to adapt theoretical knowledge of current HR issues across a large, geographically disparate
    organization.
  • A strong working knowledge and application of HR practices, regulations and legislation
  • Highly proficient use of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Required to possess a current Victorian Driver Licence
  • Candidates must be either an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • The preferred candidate will be required to undergo security checks such as police record
