About the role
As the Assistant Director of HR operations you will provide advice and support on a range of HR services including the development of cultural inclusion, wellbeing, health and safety and flexible working programs.

Your Duties

  • Provide subject and professional expertise and a business partner approach in human resources (HR), industrial relations (IR) and WHS.
  • Develop, manage and deliver an effective and contemporary approach to workplace relations matters, including case management and performance related issues, code of conduct matters, fitness for duty and grievance processes.
  • Actively support the divisions to support cultural development by providing advice, data and support towards talent acquisition, learning and development, wellbeing, WHS, policies, career and succession management.
  • Support the Enterprise Agreement negotiations and policy development.
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of HR initiatives and programs (ie. Flexibility, WHS, Diversity and Inclusion etc).
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure that People and Culture are meeting business needs with respect to Fair Work, WHS, Diversity, Public Service Directions, policies and outcomes.

Key requirements

  • Experience working in a Management position win a Government agency or department is essential
  • Tertiary qualifications in the Human Resources space is essential
  • You must have a HR Generalist background
  • Demonstrated understanding of the application and interpretation of employment relations legislation
  • engage and work collaboratively at all levels, including the ability to influence and motivate people
  • Project manage and use own judgement to priorities workloads
  • Initiative, enthusiasm and an outcomes focus
  • Evaluate risks and manage appropriate solutions
