This large Government organisation has an immediate requirement for two Safety Specialists to join their unique Enterprise Safety Culture programme.
The Enterprise Safety Culture Program partners with Safety Delivery Professionals and Safety, Environment, Quality and Risk Specialists to deliver a range of activities with leaders, line managers and teams that reinforce safe work practices and help teams share and apply good practices, learn from recent events and solve safety problems together.

The Specialist, Safety Manager provides expert level, professional safety capability and advices as a member of the Program Implementation Team and provides coaching support for Safety Professionals in the field in the delivery of Program activities with line managers and teams.
Key accountabilities

  • Deliver a range of Program activities in partnership with Manager Implementation roles and other Specialist, Safety roles and Safety Professionals to reinforce and strengthen positive safety behaviours with line managers and teams
  • Provide safety and risk subject matter expertise for the design and delivery of Program activities, the development of safety culture risk profiles and the identification of emerging issues and trends in safety behaviours to ensure Program outcomes are achieved
  • Coach other Safety Professionals in the delivery of Program activities to build their confidence and capability as solutions providers who play an active role in enabling a safety culture with line managers and teams
  • Review recent safety events, including near misses, and prepare scenarios for use in critical safety conversations, hypotheticals, deep dives, team sessions and other Program activities
  • Promote behaviours supportive of positive safety and human factors outcomes (such as reporting of workplace hazards, effectively investigating and managing issues and a willingness to learn) as part of Program activities to drive industry best practice across the enterprise
  • Provide training, guided learning, mentoring and peer support to line managers to develop their safety management competencies and help them promote and maintain a positive safety culture with their teams.

    To be successful in this role you must have had previous resposibility of owning and implementing Health and Safety programs and have the proven ability to be an influencer around Safety culture.
    You will also pecifically need to have worked within an Engineering or Infrastructure organisation.
