Chandler Macleod is working with a prominent organisation who currently have an exciting employment opportunity for an experienced Governance Specialist for a temporary 3 + month position

As the Governance Specialist you will be responsible for the Implementation and maintenance of corporate governance systems to ensure the organisation operates effectively and efficiently and is acting within and complies with its legislative responsibilities, as well as.

  • Manage and maintain the delegations register and associated instruments of delegation.
  • Manage and co-ordinate the internal audit function, including support for the Audit Committee
  • Support to the Complaints Officer, though providing advice and undertaking duties as requested.
  • Maintain records and registers related to the organisation's governance responsibilities.
  • Manage access to information requests, private information and public interest disclosures in accordance with appropriate legislation

  • Develop, manage and maintain the organisations risk management framework.
  • Effectively address areas of risk and liability in the conduct of the organisations business.
  • Work within the organisation to incorporate risk management into all systems and processes.

  • Oversee the functions of leasing/licencing and property management.
  • Oversee the organisations insurance portfolio, to ensure appropriate and cost-effective coverage.
  • Coordinate management of liability claims within agreed time frames

  • Qualifications in Governance, Risk, Business Management or other relevant discipline.
  • At least five years' experience in the areas of governance and/or risk management, including experience:
  • Sound knowledge of legislation, standards and practices relating to:
    o governance,
    o risk and compliance,
    o access to information,
    o privacy,
    o equal opportunity, and
    o workplace health and safety.
  • Advanced report writing skills including the demonstrated ability to develop policies and procedures.
  • Advanced computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office products.
  • Current C class driver's license.
