Our client AGL Energy are on the lookout for an experienced Go To Market Lead to join them on a 3 month contract whilst permanent recruitment activities are in progress. Applicants interested in applying for both the contract and permanent position would be highly regarded.

The Go To Market Lead role will be responsible for the cohesive and seamless delivery of a range of new initiatives by aligning our cross functional activities and keeping the customer at the center of all we do. Your strong customer focus will ensure that you act as the customer advocate throughout the process to deliver compelling customer experiences that are the ultimate driver of advocacy and loyalty.

This role requires someone who does not just have a passion for better customer outcomes but is driven by continual improvement. The Go To Market Lead is critical in driving the successful launch of new capabilities to achieve commercial targets and embedding data led insights to drive key Customer Market growth objectives, and guide continuous improvements to support customer advocacy and loyalty.

You will work closely with a range of stakeholders, though primarily within Customer Channels, Customer Strategy & Marketing, and Product & Portfolio teams to acquire, grow and retain customers. You will be a fast learner with a data-informed mindset, a solution-led approach, a can-do attitude, comfortable with ambiguity and have an affinity to deliver within the ambiguity.

Key accountabilities of this role

Go to Market Planning

  • Work with the Channels & Marketing Planning Manager to develop the Go to Market plan for AGL's customer growth activities, on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Ensure Go to Market (GTM) plan meets commercial objectives and delivers to overall Customer Markets strategy
  • Ensure alignment of GTM plan with agreed business targets
  • Lead the development of both deficit planning and optimisation of the GTM plan on an ongoing basis

Initiative delivery

  • Manage GTM delivery team meetings by mobilising and coordinating delivery of initiatives through cross functional stakeholders & align with overall AGL GTM plan
  • Collate business impacts and work effort to deliver initiative by ensuring plan is deliverable within available resource allocations (financial and people) and escalate any issues in a timely manner
  • Work with Channels & Marketing Planning Manager to determine potential Go Live dates and ensure that cross functional GTM teams deliver new initiatives according to quality, schedule and budget targets
  • Develop and apply quality measures to delivery including risk, issues and dependency management as well as acceptance criteria across phases (entry/exit criteria for go/no go decisions)
  • Own, manage and adjust variations to the GTM plan

Build Adoption

  • Ensure performance reporting is developed for all in market activity, and monitor actual vs planned performance in line with the GTM plan
  • Working with stakeholders, manage adoption activities for initiatives in-market including monitor and track to performance targets
  • Identify forecast gaps in plan vs target, and work with cross-functional stakeholders to develop initiatives to close gaps
  • Using performance data, ensure visibility to drive best commercial outcomes and maximization of ROI
  • Leadership
  • Create highly engaged, focussed and collaborative cross functional go to market delivery teams (indirect team)
  • Influence across the broader Customer Markets teams to ensure support for and delivery against go to market plan
  • Provide thought leadership around best practice delivery planning

Qualifications, key skills and experience required

  • Strong customer focus and business acumen with Sales, Marketing and Planning focus
  • Demonstrated experience in Project management capability
  • Commercial with proven analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Results oriented and resilience to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ability to implement and use key financial criteria when recommending initiative and prioritisation decisions
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills and is confidently able to communicate with cross functional teams
  • Minimum of 5 years function experience in program or project management/ go to market or a marketing planning role
  • Experience working with Agile methodology (SAFe exposure a bonus)
  • Experience in the utility domain preferred though not essential
  • Experience with general business management, and understanding of business drivers
  • Experience in leading teams and inspiring high levels of employee performance beneficial
