Chandler Macleod are seeking an experienced GIS Data Analyst for an upcoming temporary assignment with our Federal Government client based in Mile End.

RReporting to the AMS GIS Specialist, you will use your specialist FME skills to deliver projects supporting the Asset Management Systems Team in accordance with the asset management practices and procedures of ARTC.

The Asset Management Systems Team is currently rebuilding GIS for Assets and offers the prospective applicant an exciting opportunity to assist in the cornerstone of future Asset Management practices.

The role will focus on planning and developing data integration and conversion processes using ArcGISPro and Safe Software's FME (Feature Manipulation Engine). These integrations will provide a vital link between the clients Esri Enterprise GIS and a number of key business systems that rely on Asset Information.

As a GIS FME Analyst, you will be accountable for liaising with stakeholders within the business to scope, design and develop the integration projects between the Esri GIS and client system. You will also be responsible for developing FME workbenches, associated documentation, data quality and system management processes associated with these FME Tools.

The applicant must have demonstrated experience working with FME software, leading development projects and be proficient with Esri ArcGIS Pro with experience in manipulating, analysing and displaying spatial data.

This role is a casual contract position from December 2021 for six months initially with potential for further work.

The GIS Data Analyst will be responsible for;

  • Liaising with relevant internal stakeholders
  • Determining and documenting business and user requirements.
  • Designing and building FME workbenches.
  • Testing and developing quality assurance processes.
  • Implementing feedback from stakeholder system developers.
  • Documenting project and system processes associated with the role.
  • Other activities as assigned by AMS GIS Specialist or AMS GIS Systems Specialist

Knowledge, skills and experience required for this role:

  • Demonstrated experience using and developing FME workbenches
  • Proficient with Esri ArcGIS Pro and its geoprocessing tools
  • Demonstrated experience in leading development projects with internal stakeholders
  • Experience working with Enterprise Geodatabases
  • Ability to manipulate and import GIS Data from various sources

Desirable for this role:

  • Knowledge of the rail industry
  • Experience with Linear referencing in Esri ArcGIS
  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS Portal
  • Experience with Esri REST API Functions
