Position title: Geospatial Analysist - Defence - Government
Contract Estimation Duration: 4 months (with a possibility of extension(s))

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT:
The successful candidate must have a minimum of Baseline Security Clearance.
Purpose of this position:
This person will be responsible for data cleansing between two databases. This process involves the removal of duplication and capturing the area polygon that accurately represents the feature extent, using charted bathymetry.
General Requirements:
An APS4 Geospatial Analyst is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex geospatial analysis and production work within an integrated workforce. They are expected to have a good understanding of and compliance to relevant work procedures, geospatial standards and policy requirements.
The APS4 Spatial Analyst will be required to communicate with, respond and provide advice to a range of stakeholders on moderately complex operational and administrative issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
Education:

  • Esri ArcGIS desktop proficiencies - ArcGIS 1
  • Microsoft Office proficiencies
  • Experience in data visualisation and manipula Experience working with large dataset
  • ArcGIS 2: Essential Workflows", or equivalent

    Technical Scope:
    The duties of a Geospatial Analyst occupation in Defence include the following:
  • Perform straightforward geospatial analysis and production tasks under general direction from supervisor, making decisions within defined parameters.
  • Contribute new ideas and identify opportunities to improve the work of the team.
  • Monitor task progress against performance expectation to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Use experience in Geographic Information Systems to maintain and enhance geospatial databases.
  • Apply knowledge and experience of geospatial analysis information and products to make recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Listen to stakeholders and understand the relationships between business priorities and tasks.
  • Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in team work and group activities.
  • Interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks and international and national standards.
  • Capture area polygons if resolved duplicate names.
