Food Services Manager

The primary purpose of the Food Services Manager is to provide industry expertise, direction, management and leadership to staff in the Food Services team, enabling the provision of high quality food services in line with the requirements of the internal Service Areas and external customers.

The Food Services Manager is also responsible for leading continuous improvement within the Service Area and partnering to analyse, and where applicable implement, new product and services opportunities.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Working with the relevant; Director, General Manager's and other stakeholders to implement the strategic objectives for the Food Services operations
  • Manage the efficient production of food served to all Service Areas
  • Ensuring staff are inducted correctly, assessing skill gaps and learning and development opportunities and training needs are met
  • Development of the annual budget in consultation with the Director and the CFO
  • Establishing and maintain staffing structures and rosters that ensure optimal staffing efficiency and sufficiency of staff to provide quality food services.

About you

  • A minimum of 5 year's experience in a similar role and scale of operations
  • Commitment to work in harmony with Catholic Values and Principles
  • Trade qualification, Commercial Cookery (essential)
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (essential)
  • Qualification in business management or similar (desirable)
  • Experience in either Aged Care, Hotels or Convention Centres
  • You have a professional approach and the ability to work under pressure
  • Demonstrated experience in change management & managing staff across large teams
  • Experience in menu planning, costing, new product development and opportunity analysis
  • You can communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and strong administration skills
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of
    • food safety legislation
    • WH&S
    • particularly HACCP and Vulnerable Persons
  • Experience with reporting & managing budgets
  • Experience maintaining solid working relationships and a positive team culture
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish objectives effectively within time frame given and carry out administrative duties within portfolio in an efficient and timely manner
  • National Police Check or the ability to obtain one
  • First Aid Certificate (desirable)
