Chandler Macleod are currently recruiting for a full time fitter and turner for our client based in Dudley Park, SA.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or Fitter and Turner
Electrical Contractor ticket would be advantageous
Experience within an FMCG maintenance environment (desirable but not essential)
Previous experience with welding and cutting machine operation is highly beneficial

Role Responsibilities:
Machine assembly, testing, commissioning and installation
fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment
checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
cutting, threading, bending and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
Daily machine trouble shooting, breakdown and servicing of all site equipment
Planning and delivery of planned preventative maintenance programs
Working closely with other skilled maintenance professionals and site teams
Participating in Toolbox and safety meetings
Assisting continuous improvement projects within both Engineering and Process Improvements

Proven ability to work independently and with others in a vibrant, team-orientated environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience, with the ability to accurately and effectively convey information to clients at all levels
Self-motivated with a proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to prioritise workloads with competing demands
