Our client is seeking to engage a Financial Accountant - Taxation on a Permanent, Full Time position.

About the role

This is a hands-on role working in a growing team, reporting directly to the Finance Manager.
As part of the Finance team you will be focused in taxation, for financial statements preparation purposes. You will also be supporting the Finance Manager during audit time.

Job description

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • In charge of providing relevant information to external advisors for Income Tax Return(s) and Transfer Pricing preparation and lodgement for all eight TCGs (tax consolidated groups)
  • Reconcile GST returns and interface with external advisors for the preparation and recording of PAYG, BAS, FBT and WHT journals in the system
  • In charge of providing relevant information to external advisors for FBT return preparation and lodgement
  • Maintain and update the deferred taxes roll-forward, on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for Income Tax accruals calculations (year end)
  • Main point of contact for taxation matters when liaising with parent company and group
  • Assist the finance manager during audits (statutory)
  • Assist with business monthly reporting as needed, collaborating with the rest of the team
  • Participate -as needed with month-end closing activities such as general ledger entries accruals, intercompany entries, and reconciliations
  • Support development and operations teams with regard to tax related matters, as needed
  • Support accounts payable and receivable activities, as needed
  • Support the team in project finance processes (tax due diligence)
  • Prepare monthly payroll journals in coordination with external advisors and with HR Manager
  • Performing ad-hoc duties when required.

What is expected of you

  • Minimum of a relevant Bachelor qualification or equivalent in substantial experience
  • 2+ years experience in accounting
  • Sound knowledge of accounting, financial and business principles and procedures
  • Advanced/Proficient in MS Excel including complex formulas and pivot tables
  • Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously
  • Demonstrate an ability to be adaptable and fast paced, and respond quickly to changing needs in a demanding environment
  • Well-developed forward planning & analytical skills, with the ability to set priorities, plan workload, meet deadlines to achieve organisational objectives
  • Sound communication skills, both written and verbal
  • SAP Experience preferred
