Our client is seeking to engage a Financial Accountant on a Permanent, Full Time position

About the role

This is a hands-on role working in a growing team, reporting directly to the Finance Manager.
As part of the Finance team you will be focused in treasury functions such as cash management, funding needs forecasting, and project finance participation and support. You will also be supporting the Finance Manager during audit time.

Job description

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Main point of contact for project finance processes, coordinating with parent company departments, as and when needed
  • Prepare monthly cash flow incorporating all funding needs (projects under construction & operation). Liaise with parent company counterparts to ensure needs are covered when and as needed.
  • Prepare cash flow statement for financial statements purposes (statutory), on a quarterly basis
  • Main point of contact for lenders and agents, under existing refinancing agreements. Ensure all queries received are addressed while coordinating with different departments.
  • Ensure compliance of debt ratios and covenants as per existing refinancing agreements.
  • Assist with business monthly reporting as needed, collaborating with the rest of the team
  • Participate -as needed with month-end closing activities such as general ledger entries accruals, intercompany entries, and reconciliations
  • Reconciling bank accounts in a timely manner within each month
  • Support development and operations teams with regard to funding needs analysis and forecast
  • Support accounts payable and receivable activities, as needed
  • Main point of contact for Bank Guarantees matters. Liaise with parent company and external banks to ensure all needs are covered in a timely manner while complying with internal policies and procedures.
  • Performing ad-hoc duties when required.

What is expected of you

  • Minimum of a relevant Bachelor qualification or equivalent in substantial experience
  • 2+ years experience in accounting and finance
  • Sound knowledge of accounting, financial and business principles and procedures
  • Advanced/Proficient in MS Excel including complex formulas and pivot tables
  • Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously
  • Demonstrate an ability to be adaptable and fast paced, and respond quickly to changing needs in a demanding environment
  • Well-developed forward planning & analytical skills, with the ability to set priorities, plan workload, meet deadlines to achieve organisational objectives
  • Sound communication skills, both written and verbal
  • SAP Experience preferred
