Our client is a well-renowned government organisation are currently seeking a talented Finance Specialist for a 3 + month contract to lead end to end finance related process improvements and related capability uplift activities.

To be successful in this Projects role, you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Lead the development and delivery of Finance improvements including the ongoing implementation of leading practice processes across systems, data, user education and capability uplift activities as well as developing and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide specialised support to ensure processes align with leading practice and fully leverage system functionality to enable and support Finance and the organisation in focusing on high value business partnering and decision making
  • Provide strong Project Management including, preparing and monitoring detailed requirements, project plans, dependencies and other documents, such as the scheduling and coordination of appropriate resources and controlling timelines and financial budgets as well as undertaking problem solving activities
  • Take a leading role in the standardisation, planning and development of clearly defined change management objectives and outcomes to ensure effective and timely communication and education delivery across the business units including stabilisation beyond the transformation program
  • Provide specialised support to enable a capability uplift across Finance and the organisation and ensure necessary skills are developed to leverage improvements and projects
  • Manage business partnerships and undertake strategic and operational planning with key stakeholders to ensure the development and implementation of both Finance and wider business strategies and objectives are delivered
  • Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of operational policies, procedures and processes for Finance programs and initiatives.

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading process improvement projects within a finance function
  • Demonstrated Project Management Skills
  • Knowledge of leading practice processes with a strong Finance focus and insights into leading finance practices
  • Demonstrated change leadership experience with the ability to engage and collaborate with various stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • Well developed communication skills including negotiation, and ability to mentor and teach.
