The duties of the role:

  • Developing plans and objectives for short-term finance projects;
  • Setting priorities and ensuring quality outputs for their own work and the work area;
  • Monitoring emerging financial issues and identifying likely risks and impacts; and
  • Developing recommendations and solutions to mitigate, correct and prevent reoccurrence of financial risks.
  • Work within a core finance function, interpret and apply legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents to their work activities; anticipating problems and contributing to issues management

What you will bring to the role:

  • Tertiary level qualifications in Accounting, Finance or equivalent academic specialisation is required
  • possess excellent modelling skills with experience in a multiple dimensional business
  • Must be a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, CPA or other equivalent
  • Financial experience within the public sector his highly desirable
  • A strong understanding, or ability to quickly develop an understanding, of government processes
  • Exceptional analytical and written communication skills
  • Expert Excel skills is essential
  • A high degree of initiative, strong organisational skills and the capability to manage effectively in a fast-paced working environment
  • Flexibility and resilience and embrace the challenges of working in a complex and changing environment.

Must be an Australian or Permanent Resident with eligibility to clear a National Police Check
