Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS 5/6 Finance Officer on a contract for 9 months.

About the Role:

Our Client is seeking a Contractor for the Contact Services Team that undertakes financial management for the 13 28 46 Contact Centre and other duties as required. The 13 28 46 Contact Centre supports the website is a single digital entry point connecting Australian business owners to information, grants, registrations and support from government.

You would work within a multi-disciplinary agile team with contact centre administrators, data reporting specialists, contract managers and service design experts. .

As part of the Contact Centre Services Team, you will contribute to the daily management of the contact centre services including; financial and contract management, performance, project management and customer experience. A demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas in plain language both in verbal and written form is required.

Scope of Work

  • Undertake end to end financial management responsibilities such as; reconciling invoices, accruals, account reconciliation, commitments, end of month processes and budget management.
  • Co-ordinate administered and departmental invoice payments for section including analysis of service and reconciliation for accuracy against service provider data within an appropriate time frame.
  • Prepare service schedules, service level agreements, work orders and related liaison activities with the department's procurement and legal teams.
  • Streamline financial data analysis and reporting with close attention to stakeholder requirements.
  • Develop and foster close relationships with stakeholders internally and externally to better manage section business.
  • Support and embed financial and contractual governance.
  • Provide project support such as developing project analysis and templates to assist in project tracking, gap analysis of future/current state of processes.
  • Undertaking customer experience initiates and review performance measures.
  • Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate solid finance and procurement experience, have good oral and written communication skills, enjoy working with a range of stakeholders and be able to work flexibly on multiple issues.
  • Provide project support such as developing project analysis and templates to assist in project tracking, gap analysis of future/current state of processes.
  • Other duties as required.


  • Previous government experience desirable
  • Previous experience working in government departments desirable
  • TechOne financial system knowledge desirable
  • Relevant education (Degree/Certificate) desirable

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline security clearance.
