Key Accountabilities
  • Develop a strong business partnering ethos with stakeholders across the district and the wider Finance teams.
  • Assume a key role in implementing at District level the strategic FTE reporting required to align to the direction of the Facilities and the LHD.
  • Initiate and drive improvements to FTE and other reporting, to support the Facilities and the wider Finance teams.
  • Develop annual budget strategies for the district, by identifying opportunities for standardised expenditure templates, and alignment to monthly reporting.
  • Align and improve standardised budget monitoring tools and ensure use across the District.
  • Produce standardised reporting on FTE by award and directorate / Cost Centre on a fortnightly and/or monthly basis, for trend analysis, scrutiny and corrective management.
  • Monitor and analyse FTE, expenditure and revenue by outlining comparative performance, trends of expenditure and revenue.
  • Meet regularly with the Finance Business partners and other stakeholders to educate and support the reporting needs. Discuss reports, trends and key indicators and to influence remedial actions.
  • Undertake ad hoc reporting, analyse financial information and prepare summary reports for the district as required.
  • Facilitate any ongoing FTE reporting and budget process training programs.
  • Induction of new and relief staff into various reporting requirements and budget templates and processes.
To be successful in this role you must show the below skills

Relevant tertiary qualifications in management, business or accounting or extensive equivalent work experience with demonstrated evidence of experience in financial or business management.
This individual should also show high level interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills that support the primary business function of a large organisation. Computer and systems literacy; particularly in Microsoft Office products and Oracle financials.
