Our client is seeking to engage a Finance and Systems Manager on a contract for 12 months

About the Role:

The Finance & Systems Manager is responsible for the management of the company finance systems, development of insightful business reporting and the provision of transactional finance activities including, but not limited to, payroll, reconciliations, accounts payable & receivable and administration. N.B. This is a 1-year maternity leave backfill position.

Key accountabilities:

  • Lead finance systems and provide relevant support through engaging with external systems consultants
  • Develop and own performance reporting and planning processes
  • Be the finance systems champion across the organisation, ensure capability and deliver training across the organisation
  • Streamline finance processes and ways of working
  • Manage the upgrade of the finance payroll system
  • Assist the Finance Manager where required to ensure all financial obligations are met including BAS, PAYG, Superannuation and Workcover
  • Provide support to the Senior Manager Finance to manage the cash flow of the organisation's funds
  • Contribute to month end processes to ensure timely reporting of financial information
  • Assist and comply with annual audit requirements
  • Contribute to the development of policies, system and processes to standardise and streamline financial processing
  • Develop and document appropriate policies and procedures in relation to the financial management of the organisation.
  • Provide general administrative support as required to support the finance team and organisation
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained in accordance with relevant legislation
  • Work Health and Safety responsibility including identifying, assessing, eliminating/controlling and reporting hazards and risks within the workplace, to the extent of delegated authority for the role.
  • Attend and present scheduled meetings, conferences and work related functions within and outside usual work hours including travel to other regions where overnight stays may be required

Essential requirements


  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, financial and/or business-relevant discipline

  • Criminal History Check

Registration and licensing

  • NSW Drivers Licence

Knowledge and experience

  • Proven financial management skills with minimum 5 years' experience with financial systems and processes
  • Prior experience in using self-serving reporting tools such as BI and Solver
  • Project management experience highly regarded
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement initiatives to maintain best practice financial policies and processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively, cooperatively and effectively as part of a team- to be a true business partner
