Currently seeking an experienced and energetic Finance and Administration Manager to join a Not-For-Profit Organization with the option to work in Bondi Beach or Bondi Junction. My client works with young people aged 9-24 years and their families to create successful and meaningful pathways to the future.


They are passionate about the work they do and achieve their goals through a "one-stop-shop" integrated model of service delivery providing innovative and comprehensive services, specialist staff and programs specifically designed to meaningfully assist young people and their families achieve a range of positive outcomes.

The Role
Reporting to the CEO, the principal purpose of the Finance and Administration Manager is to control and enhance the organisation's accounting and administration operations to ensure effective financial reporting and acquittals to funding bodies and other stakeholders, control of and record keeping of funds, expenditure, assets and writing financial reports to the Board.


This role is responsible for managing the accounting and financial planning/control function in respect of the business and its various program areas, and the maintenance of the financial record keeping system.


Administration duties includes managing office services by ensuring office operations, ensuring correspondences are controlled, filing systems are designed, supply requisitions are reviewed and approved and that clerical functions are properly assigned and monitored.


The finance and administration manager is the focal point for advice and technical expertise in financial management, for the Board, CEO and Managers and plays a key role in contributing to the development and implementation of the financial strategy of the organisation.


With the CEO, this role also manages the budgeting processes to monitor, control, approve and evaluate costs, revenues and cash flows, as well as conducting audits for the school and the organisation, evaluations and risk assessment to forecast long‐term financial position.


About you
In order to be successful for the role, you will need:

  • Suitable/relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting
  • At least 3- 5 years or more experience in accounting and financial management
  • Desirable but not essential : CA or CPA qualified
  • Knowledge of Acts, Regulations and professional practices relating to financial accounting and management in not for profit organisations
  • Appropriate experience in working with financial management systems
  • Experience and knowledge of a range of management accounting techniques as applied in a multifaceted, regulated environment
  • Experience in using Xero and or other relevant financial accounting software
  • The ability to contribute to the financial expertise for the development and/or assessment of a business case for a new service
  • Understanding of Accreditation Standards and Regulations, as they affect financial management in the not for profit service sector and a secondary school
  • Experience in not‐for‐profit sector and regulatory requirements
  • Passion for making an invaluable contribution to the community
  • Must have permanent work rights with no restrictions
