Family Support Case Manager

We at Chandler Macleod are seeking a temporary Family Support Case Manager for a 3-6 month role in Dandenong.

Key Objectives

  • Support to vulnerable families with children and young people with the focus on the best interests of the child
  • Provide case management to families referred through Child FIRST and the community
  • Facilitate parenting support groups for families to obtain social, practical, emotional and educational support
  • To work as a multi disciplinary team to deliver a high quality confidential service that conforms to the legal and professional requirements, ensuring the safety and well being of all families
  • A responsive service that recognises the needs of families in a diverse and multicultural community.

Key Skills

  • Ability to prioritise time and organise workload and commitments to working in a multidisciplanary team within cultural diver
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise and work with a wide range of community organisations and service providers
  • Demonstrated knowledge of childrens development when working with vulnerable families
  • MS Office

Key Selection Criteria
Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioural sciences or related field relevant to child and family welfare, or demonstrated knowledge and relevant experience in family casework, especially assessment, review and direct practice of family interventions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of children's development when working with vulnerable families;
  • Demonstrated experience of the development, implementation and evaluation of parenting
  • intervention and group programs
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise and work cooperatively with a wide range of community organisations,
  • services providers and other relevant bodies,
  • Knowledge of relevant frameworks and legal acts in relation to child safety and parenting,
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise time and organise workload and commitment to working in a multidisciplinary team within a culturally diverse community
  • Demonstrated intermediate computer skills including sound knowledge of the suite of Microsoft office products
  • Current Victorian Driver's License, Working with Children Check and Police Check.
