We are currently looking looking for a Facilities and Building Management Team Leader to join a well respcected Gas & Electricity company based in the Melbourne CBD for a 6 month contract (with potential for permanency)

The Facilities and Building Management Team Leader provides strategic planning, operational direction and advice to the National Facilities and Building Management Team to ensure the optimal performance of the company's Non-Network facilities. The role works closely with the National Facilities and Workplace Manager and Facility Services Team Leader and leads a team of Facilities Coordinators responsible for ensuring cost effective and responsible facility service delivery. The role is responsible for ensuring a productive, legislatively compliant, safe and comfortable workplace which aligns with the company's National Property Strategy, Asset Management Plans and the National Workplace Strategy.


  • Primary contact for technical and maintenance advice, supporting the National Facilities and Workplace Management Team, Property Department and others as required.
  • Provide input and assistance with the implementation of the Property Asset Class Strategy and Asset Management Plans in relation to the management of sites and deliver sound facilities management strategies in accordance with these Plans.
  • Provide input and assist with the realisation of the Property Business Continuity Plan when required, including training framework and dependencies, and ensure alignment with the overarching Business Continuity Plan.
  • Plan, deliver and monitor detailed routine, warranty and reactive maintenance across all sites.
  • Manage facility management technology infrastructure including facilities response center.
  • Manage and deliver timely and accurate financial management including Purchase Order setup, invoice receipting and tracking and monthly accruals
  • Manage and review all facility management systems and processes ensuring policies are adhered to and identify opportunities for improvement and standardisation across sites.
  • Support the Group Manager Property to prepare, submit, review and manage annual facilities operating budgets for all sites
  • Manage building hard and soft services contract administration and procurement to ensure all technical, risk and statutory requirements are met.
  • Maintain and be fully conversant with all Australian Standards, statutory and legal requirements directly related to building and facility management service delivery.
  • Ensure accurate records are readily available in both hard and soft copy formats for auditing, compliance and planning purposes.
  • Implement, audit and maintain risk procedures across all assets.
  • Fulfil any required roles and responsibilities within the Business Continuity Management framework.
  • Manage key relationships with internal and external stakeholders with respect to facility management
  • Assist, when required, with setup of corporate meetings and events
