About the role:

We are extremely excited to announce that we are inviting applications for multiple Underground Operator positions throughout our Clients East Coast Australian Metals business. These roles are based in Central NSW and will mainly operate on 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off or 7 and 7 roster basis. There is potential for these positions to be drive in, drive out for NSW residents. Onsite accommodation and meals are provided.

As a valued member of our team, you will work closely with our customers to achieve our operational goals, whilst maintaining an unwavering focus on safety. You will be specifically trained and supported to operate our MCU's (Mobile Charge Units), which are highly advanced medium rigid vehicles, fitted with the latest technologies and onboard computer systems to deliver bulk explosives at underground mine sites.

What you will be doing:

  • Operating our MCU vehicles (Mobile Charge Unit) and other associated blasting plant and machinery;
  • Providing operational blasting knowledge and advice to our client blast crews and associated stakeholders;
  • Assisting with preventative maintenance on all associated Plant & Machinery;
  • Assist with the 'hands-on' delivery of explosive products into pre-drilled blast holes on bench;
  • Working in tight unison with your teammates to provide excellence in service to our valued customers;
  • Demonstrating and setting the example of our key company value: 'Safety is our Priority, Always';
  • At all times acting with integrity and respect.

What you bring:

  • A current Medium Rigid (MR) drivers licence, or the ability to gain this prior to your commencement;
  • Current QESC/SSAN security clearance or willing to obtain prior to interview (prerequisite);
  • 2+ Years experience with production charging using emulsion based products (preferred);
  • Previous experience with Orica MCU or Hypercharge™ units using LOADPlus™ will be highly regarded;
  • Ability to pass all required security checks in which to obtain a Dangerous Goods licence;
  • An excellent, positive and team-based attitude where you look out for your mates;
  • A basic mechanical comprehension is advantageous, but not essential.
