Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a APS4 Executive Assistant on a contract for 18 months with potential extension.

About the Team:

The Compliance Program Branch is responsible for providing the strategic and operational direction of the Agency's compliance function to ensure payment integrity and facilitate a reduction of potential fraud and non-compliance to the Agency.

The branch aim is to engage with Agency staff, partners, participants and providers to promote good compliance practice and early intervention when non-compliance is identified. We believe in positive engagement, early intervention, and mutual awareness and ownership towards compliance and good practice.

About the Role:

The APS4 Executive Assistant (Labour Hire) is accountable under general direction to undertake moderately complex activities and tasks within established procedures and guidance. The position will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice to resolve moderately complex enquiries.

This is a team membership position that will work within defined parameters relating to their area of responsibility. It will be required to apply well-established policy, principles, practices and procedures to achieve outcomes that supports and contributes to the department's objectives to 'build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme'.

The APS4 Executive Assistant (Labour Hire) will provide operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by sound knowledge and may undertake some research and analysis activities.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Completing operational and/or administrative tasks of moderate complexity or difficulty.
  • Diary and email management, responding to changing priorities and timeframes.
  • Preparing replies to correspondence, briefing material and handling confidential papers.
  • Scheduling meetings and preparing documentation for committees and projects.
  • Undertaking research and investigations as requested.
  • Coordinating official meetings, travel arrangements and official functions on behalf of the branch, Regional Manager, and other Agency staff.
  • Providing high level administrative support on personnel and financial matters within the Agency.

Role Specifications

The role is required to be performed in a work environment that has the following core characteristics and requirements:

  • Working in an open office environment (exposure to general workplace chatter)
  • Working from home on occasion
  • Working in a hot desk environment
  • Significant periods of sitting at a counter or desk
  • Operating a telephone
  • Computer/screen based work
  • Ability to use computer/software applications including Microsoft Office and department's client records management system (CRM)
  • Assistance animals may be in the work area


The following essential checks/clearances are required to perform the role:

  • Working with Children Check
  • Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) clearance - a vetting process undertaken before an individual may have access to classified information and resources. This is only applicable to some positions within the department that require the occupant to have access to classified Australian Government information
  • Pre-Engagement Check - this is a mandatory pre-employment security screening process. All employees and contractors of department must undertake a Pre-Engagement Check. This check is undertaken for any individual who will have non-public access to agency resources (information, buildings, systems, assets, staff and customers)
