The Opportunity
Chandler Macleod is looking to engage an Event Sales Manager for a contract term of 12 months with a well-established NSW Government department. This is a 35 hour a week role working Tuesday - Saturday.

In this role you would be responsible for driving event sales growth along with implementing effective sales and marketing strategies to grow sales in the corporate and private events market and provide exceptional customer service to all community, industry and stakeholder groups.

Job Specification
In this position, you will be required to perform but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Drive event sales and exceed annual sales KPI.
  • Ensure event sales budgets are met within set time frames (e.g. Monthly, Quarterly, Annually).
  • Provide outstanding customer relationship management, including maintaining proactive working relationships with stakeholders and service providers to balance competing needs and achieve strategic and operational objectives.
  • Liaise and negotiate with clients and stakeholders regarding compliance with conditions of use and hire of venues and sites to ensure functions, events, weddings or bookings are coordinated to fulfil the needs of the stakeholders and have a minimal impact on the collections and lands.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of an annual business action plan for venue management in line with the division's business and strategic objectives.
  • Support clients with logistical requirements for events and bookings, including venue plans, security, delivery management, traffic management, parking and event requirements during site occupation.
  • Coordinate bookings and internal resources for events, activities and functions including contractor liaison in accordance with policies and procedures and revenue raising requirements.
  • Identify and cross-sell opportunities, including those from existing and prospective commercial and venue hire clients, to maximise commercial revenue and deliver memorable moments and rewarding experiences for our customers.
  • Identify other revenue stream opportunities for special events and/or products throughout the Gardens (e.g. Family Fun Days, Gourmet Picnic Hampers, School Group Lunch Boxes etc.)

About You
To be successful in this position, you will need to have experience in the following:

  • Experience in managing and selling events such as weddings, corporate events, brand launches.
  • Experience using a computerised booking management system, such as Priava.
  • Deep understanding of the corporate events market (customers, buying patterns, event seasons etc.)
  • Presenting events / venues to corporate event buyers via face to face (or virtual) presentations, venue famils, showcases.
  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities in the corporate events marketing.
    Essential requirements
  • Ability to work outside of normal working hours and on weekends if required.
  • Current drivers' licence.
