Our client is an industry-leading company who constructs and commissions large-scale solar farms across Australia. This is your chance to gain valuable experience on a Solar Farm project based in Regional NSW.

Our client is seeking an Environmental Planning Compliance & Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator in a full time hours, casual contract basis for a minimum of 6 months. This role will be based onsite at our Client site in Jemalong, NSW.

List of Activities to be undertaken as part of this role:
1. Environmental Compliance
1.1 Implement, coordinate and oversee the compliance of all conditions of the environmental management plans;
1.2 Manage compliance of all relevant environmental legislative requirements;
1.3 Oversee the monitoring of environmental performance as required by the environmental management plans;
1.4 Coordinate the implementation of corrective actions and evaluate their effectiveness;
1.5 Implement internal environmental audits;
1.6 Coordinate and facilitate external environmental audits;
1.7 Assist to resolve complaints relating to environmental impacts;
1.8 Coordinate information and training to communicate environmental requirements to relevant site personnel;
1.9 Undertake internal and external reporting for environmental performance, non-compliance and incidents as required by the environmental management plans.
1.10 Overseeing the implementation, monitoring and reporting of the landscaping and groundcover management plans;
1.11 Minimise negative environmental impacts through reducing waste, recycling, carbon offsets, etc.;

2 Planning Compliance
2.1 Be aware of and manage compliance with all conditions of the Development Consent including all planning obligations and any other required permits;
2.2 Assist in any development consent modifications and submissions
2.3 Liaise with relevant government agencies in relation to regulatory conditions and compliance issues.
2.4 Facilitate internal and external auditing of development consent and planning obligations.

3 Aboriginal Cultural Heritage & Awareness
3.1 Where appropriate, engage a local Aboriginal organisation to undertake cultural awareness training for staff so that they have a better understanding of the country they are working on and the history of the local Aboriginal Peoples;
3.2 Act as a key point of contact for Aboriginal workers to assist to resolve any issues in relation to their work and assist them to integrate into the workforce;
3.3 Act as a key point of contact and coordinate issues concerning the site with regards to cultural heritage;
3.4 Oversee the salvaging and relocation of any Aboriginal artefacts discovered onsite in keeping with Cultural Heritage Management Plan.

4 Community and Stakeholder Engagement
Oversee an honest and open community and stakeholder engagement process.
4.1 Review the Community and Stakeholder Management Plan on a regular basis to assure full implementation;
4.2 Organise and attend community events and stakeholder meetings;
4.3 Provide general landholder / neighbour updates during the construction of the project;
4.4 Provide assistance in relation to construction related landholder/neighbour issues;
4.5 Facilitate site visits by community groups such as schools, client representatives and other relevant stakeholders with an interest in the project;
4.6 Plan, facilitate and coordinate site open day - if required;
4.7 Provide support and assistance in dealing with specific issues and conflict resolution with community members and or stakeholders;
4.8 Maintain a register of all complaints;
4.9 Maintain a record of all stakeholder communications (stakeholder register).

5 Communications:
5.1 Be the point of contact and respond to community enquiries;
5.2 Assist to prepare newsletters and other information materials for the community;
5.3 Assist HSE manager to oversee an emergency management communications process for escalated issues, emergency and crisis situations;
5.4 Assist to Prepare media releases/stories and/or gather stories and information for media releases, including internal media, as and when needed
5.5 Receive, co-ordinate responses and document complaints and enquiries;
5.6 Respond to emails that are sent via the webpage.

What you will bring to the role:
A demonstrated background in a similar role.
A strong planning and environmental compliance background.
Reliability and Commitment to the contract.
The ability to work comfortably on an active construction site as well as within the local community.
A current and valid Drivers Licence and White Card.

There are long term opportunities available on future projects and therefore we are seeking candidates who would be interested in transitioning across to other projects. The other projects will also be based in Regional NSW.
