Chandler Macleod are currently seeking expressions of interests for an Environmental Assistant

The position of Environmental Coordinator/Assistant is primarily responsible for maintaining, implementing and coordinating with the Environmental Management System at our clients site. Ensuring compliance with relevant Environmental organisational and legislative standards. It will include monitoring environmental activities at the Processing, Rendering and Water Recovery Facilities whilst driving continuous improvement so the site operates in an environmentally sustainable manner. The position reports directly to the Site Manager and has direct working relationships with the National Environmental and Sustainability Manager.

Key tasks include:

  • Maintenance of the Hanwood Site Environmental Systems.
  • Ensure all risk registers, procedures and documents are current.
  • Schedule and ensure verification and reporting activities are completed within required timeframes and in accordance to legislation.
  • Coordinate and attend relevant meetings and audits.
  • Maintain sites' Environmental Training program.
  • Monitor activities at the site to ensure compliance with environmental standards and apply appropriate corrective actions as deemed necessary.
  • Incident and Complaint reporting.
  • Prepare and address non-conformances using a root-cause, corrective/preventative action approach to eliminate the issue.

    REQUIREMENTS
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others in a team environment.
  • Maintain high standards of work, behaviour & follow direction.
  • Good problem solving skills and the ability to be decisive.
  • Sound computer and analytical skills.
  • Excellent Attendance.
  • Practical understanding of environmental regulations and law as it relates to the operation and management of the site.
