Environmental Adviser - Brisbane CBD - 6 month contract

    About the Role
    The purpose of this position is to review and provide advice on environmental legislation and policy changes to internal and external stakeholders, in a challenging and ever changing landscape.

    Key responsibilities
  • Identify statutory environmental requirements and obtain regulatory environmental approvals across various Australian jurisdictions for exploration, development and production activities.
  • Provide environmental advice about approvals and regulation to internal stakeholders.
  • Facilitate environmental impact assessments and development of materials to support applications for environmental approvals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant government stakeholders to facilitate regulatory approval processes.
  • Assist internal stakeholders with interpretation of environmental approval conditions.
  • Critically review proposed changes to environmental regulation and policy, identifying impacts to the business.
  • Ensures compliance with and adherence to standards for EHS performance and behaviour consistent with Company's environmental, and health & safety vision and policies and standards

    About You
  • Relevant tertiary education
  • Previous experience in the preparing and obtaining environmental regulatory approvals and government liaison in Queensland, New South Wales or South Australia.
  • Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and policies
  • Ecological skills and/or an understanding of Brigalow Belt and/or Cooper Basin ecological values is desirable
