Chandler Macleod currently has a very exciting opportunity for a full time Engineering Fabrication/Technician in the Shepparton area.

The Engineering Technician will work closely with the Engineering Department and will be responsible for development and fabrication of specialised manufacturing and testing equipment and prototyping. With assistance of the Engineers, the engineering technician will also conduct testing to ascertain whether design and parts are fit for purpose. Assistance with production, installation and maintenance of special products will also be required on an as needs basis.

Is successful in obtaining this position you will be responsible for
  • Fabrication of manufacturing equipment: Jigs, Fixtures, Special purpose machinery, Tooling.
  • Liaise with equipment suppliers, manufacturing department and other stakeholder.
  • Provide support to process engineers with time and process capability studies.
  • Support to design and development activities: Prototyping of new products, fabricate testing equipment, develop a Jig from a concept to a finished production ready Jig (Component and jig manufacture), Conduct testing, log results and report.
  • Support to special projects for the manufacturing, installation and maintenance of special products; work within our clients ISO 9001 Quality System, Effective daily time management and organisational skills, ensure all Rubicon Work Instructions are observed and applied.
  • Health and Safety, Develop and implement Occupational Health and Safety procedures that are consistent with legislative and workplace requirements and the general health and safety requirements of employees.

    You will have a
  • A current drivers licence
  • Forklift Licence (Desirable)
  • Qualification in metal trades
  • Minimum 5 years' experience of metal fabrication and machining
  • Welding experience with Aluminium and Steel
  • Experience and demonstrated success with production processes and techniques
  • Basic knowledge of electro/mechanical devices.
