We have partnered with the Forestry Corporation, an organisation that manages environmental sustainability, tourism, and renewable timber production in NSW’ state owned commercial native and plantation forests to find a Forest Engineer to join their team in a full-time, three-year contract.

About the Role
The role is responsible for providing authoritative advice and support in relation to the planning, design and management of road, quarry and infrastructure repair and maintenance works, as well as developing, reviewing, and implementing strategies to ensure that the corporation achieves relevant compliance, manages risk, and optimises outcomes.

Reporting to the Manager Forest Infrastructure the role employs sound leadership, financial, operational and safety principles to maintain best practice methodologies in a complex corporate, legislative, and regulatory environment. This role will also collaborate and align with internal and external stakeholders to achieve efficient outcomes with consideration of the wider group's strategies.

About You
To be successful in this role you will need to be an adept and motivated individual with a strong innovative spirit. You will possess appropriate tertiary engineering qualifications with proven ability to work independently at a senior level. Your expert knowledge and significant relevant experience, preferably in a rural context and supported by knowledge of a range of land management functions relating to road usage and infrastructure repairs will be key to your success in this role.

The successful applicant will have outstanding personal attributes including personal drive and integrity, excellent written, verbal communication, and consultation skills and sound knowledge and experience in tender management as well as,

• Experience in running tenders and procurement of contractors and materials for road and infrastructure repair and upgrade.
• Experience in working with legislation related to roads, quarries and infrastructure.
• Experience with asset management and quality control.
• Demonstrated continuous improvement and customer service focus.
• Sound knowledge and experience in the use of relevant technologies, techniques, and systems.
• Capacity and willingness to undertake firefighting, and travel (mainly driving), and to maintain sufficient fitness for the job.
• Current drivers’ licence, willingness, and availability to undertake overnight travel.
