About the organisation:

Chandler Macleod is proudly partnering with a government organisation that is responsible for building all major roads in Victoria. This is a unique and rare opportunity across a 3-year fixed term contract in Melbourne CBD.

About the role:

The Employment Programs Lead is responsible for successfully leading and delivering high quality employment programs across the organisation. Committed to building an early talent pipeline that futureproofs capability, it is essential that the appropriate candidate is specifically familiar with Graduate and Early Learning Recruitment.
The main accountabilities of the role include program management, coordination and at times signing of learning and development initiatives and leading the annual recruitment campaigns through a bulk recruitment process.

Some other responsibilities include:
  • Generate employments contracts, letters of offer and onboarding paperwork for new employees
  • Oversee the support provided to program participants, ensuring business partnering model with a focus on coaching principles and local resolution for managing issues.
  • Provide advice to HR Business Partners, Directors, and Managers on a range of graduate and intern placement queries. This also includes taking a proactive and strategic approach to the coordination of the graduate rotation schedule.
  • Review, manage, report and present on progress against the strategic plan for the early talent pipeline. This will include updating the plans and regular data capture to track progress
  • Design and update a range of communication and marketing collateral including regular updates to the organisations Graduate Hub.
  • Lead and support the delivery of the annual intern and induction programs. This includes reviewing and updating the induction plan, coordination of a range of stakeholders, facilitating and onboarding the new graduates and interns
  • Lead the delivery of all end to end recruitment employment activities (including advertising, sourcing, screening, short-listing, interviewing, assessment centre development and negotiation with successful candidates).
  • Lead, manage and develop a small team to deliver employment programs with a focus on program participant experience, continuous improvement, and service excellence

About you:

Ideally you will have relevant experience in an Early Career Recruiting role under Australian rules and regulations, as well as:
  • Fully vaccinated to be able to work in the office
  • Full Australian Working Rights
  • Genuine interest and proven experience developing early career professionals who are currently/soon to complete secondary and tertiary studies.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management, Psychology or Organisational Development is desirable
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment processes, industry trends and requirement standards
  • Strong understanding of various computer systems including Microsoft Suite and records management systems
  • Have a high level of attention to detail
  • Very strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
