Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Emergency Management Coordinator on an ongoing contract.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and continually improve client's emergency management framework.
  • Maintain and continually improve all emergency management and incident response documentation, systems and processes.
  • Ensure all processes, documentation, training and exercises meet legislative requirements.
  • Provide expert advice on incident and emergency management to the client.
  • Lead/coordinate all emergency management exercises within the client to ensure efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Represent the client at relevant internal and external emergency management forums.
  • Assist in the preparedness and participation with external emergency management exercises.
  • Prepare reports on emergency management and preparedess initiatives as required.
  • Develop and implement emergency management training programs across the organisation.
  • Build and maintain professional working relationships with external organisations such as Emergency Services and the ACT Government.
  • Work collaboratively with the Branch's Business Continuity Coordinator to ensure emergency and continuity management processes are integrated and seamless.
  • Other duties within the employee's skill, competence and training.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Emergency Management or related discipline.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Australasian Inter-Service Incident Management System (AIIMS) methodology.
  • Well-developed knowledge of legislative requirements for emergency management in ACT/NSW.
  • Significant experience in maintaining and continually improving an emergency management framework in an operational environment.
  • Experience in developing emergency management plans, exercise schedules, test scenarios and report writing.
