Our Client, is looking for an experienced mechanical maintenance officer to join their team. Based in Port Giles South Australia.
The successful applicant will be responsible for electrical servicing, maintenance, installations and upgrades of all fixed and mobile plant and equipment within the area. To ensure that this plant is adequately maintained and remains available for all operational requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • planning and ensuring the safe journey from the maintenance workshop to attend remote maintenance tasks
  • Developing sustainable maintenance plans and programs to ensure that all electrical and mechanical maintenance is completed in time to coincide with current and future operational requirements and demands.
  • Developing and implementing solutions and strategies to ensure the timely and effective response to equipment failures and breakdowns within the region
  • Implantation and conduct of fault finding and repairs to mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Fault finding on electrical plant
  • Attend site after normal working hours where equipment failure or breakdowns impact on immediate operations
  • Upkeep & safety of the area maintenance workshop and its facilities and the correct use of the company provided motor vehicle and tools of trade
  • Arrange transportation and delivery of critical spares, mobile plant, equipment consumables

    skills & experience
    Essential:
  • Electrical workers licence Class A (south Australia)
  • PLC diagnostic training
  • Hazardous areas instillation competency would be advantageous
  • Current drivers licence
  • Qualifications in mechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems would be advantageous
  • Experience in managing the maintenance of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems
  • Experience in the maintenance of fixed and mobile plant
  • Competent in interpreting electrical diagrams to assist with fault finding and diagnosing electrical breakdowns
  • Experience with 3 phase induction motors and control circuits including variable speed drives and soft starters
  • Knowledge and experience with PLC systems
  • Competent in completing all electrical work with compliance AS300 standard
  • Knowledge and experience with installation, commissioning and fault finding of electrical instillations
  • Ability to work at heights and confined spaces

    Desirable:
  • Ability to fault find mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic installations
  • Previous experience with the grain industry or a bulk handling industry background
  • Experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of a coordinated maintenance program over a distributed asset base.
