We are currently assisting our client, a Federal Government agency, to recruit for 2 x Electrical Engineers to be based in Sydney. This is a full time permanent role with a salary range of $88,791 to $116,747 + super dependent on experience and are at AP6 or EL1 level dependent on experience.

Two similar positions are available: one with a stronger focus on research and development and the other with primary responsibility for the provision of customer calibration services.

Our ideal candidates have:

  • A deep theoretical understanding of the principles of electrical measurement
  • The ability to make precise measurements using a range of measuring instruments and techniques
  • Experience in designing electrical and electronic devices using appropriate software
  • A demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to deliver agreed technical and service delivery outcomes
  • Well-developed communication skills to engage effectively with clients, industry and the research community.


As Electrical Engineer - Standards for Impedance, you will:

  • Work with the team to implement the measurement system for the new calculable cross-capacitor of unprecedented precision
  • Contribute to the team's research and development activities, developing your own research strengths within these programs
  • Provide high-level scientific and technical support for the operations of the Impedance Standards team, including contributing to research directions, project planning and resource management
  • Provide customer calibration services in impedance quantities, completing calibrations efficiently, accurately and to clients' requirements
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with clients and stakeholders, providing advice on technical issues and contributing to training programs
  • Develop, enhance and maintain measurement standards and services
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement and maintenance of the group's quality system documentation and processes


Eligibility

  • Australian Citizen is an Essential Requirement
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, or closely related discipline. Recent Graduates would be considered
  • The successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance
