One of our clients, a major manufacturer and supplier of chemicals, fertilisers and related services to the mining, mineral processing, industrial and agricultural sectors, is seeking the services of an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer based at their Kwinana offices for a period 4-6 months on a Monday - Friday (38 hour week) roster, with additional requirements during shutdowns.

The Plant Senior E&I Engineer assists the reliability and maintenance team within the Sodium Cyanide business and is single point of accountability for onsite troubleshooting, maintenance and reliability engineering support for E&I systems. The successful person will be required to work together with the plant E&I techs and E&I Planner and reports directly to the Reliability Superintendent .

The main duties of this role include:

  • Developing and conducting reviews of equipment management strategies and detailed scopes of work for regulatory inspections and overhauls of critical equipment;
  • Working within our client's Sodium Cyanide facility, a major hazard facility located in Kwinana that produces liquid and solids cyanide that is used in the gold processing .

Successful candidates will have the following work experience:

  • Electrical | Instrumentation Engineering Bachelor Degree
  • Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer with 8-10 years of experience working in an operational plant
  • Good communication skills and interpersonal skills working with maintenance and operations teams
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment and developing solutions including facilitating root cause analysis, developing condition monitoring routines and small projects
  • Minimal 10 years' planning experience in shutdown maintenance as a Senior Planner in a chemical manufacturing plant or similar industry
  • An understanding of Emerson DeltaV DCS systems, Schneider Modicon PLCs and quality measuring instruments as well as good application knowledge of Electrical standards, ISA standards and EEHA standards is desirable

The successful candidate will be required to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug Screen and provide a current WA Drivers Licence and Australian working rights.
