The Department is looking for a high performing EL2 with specialist health sectoral knowledge who would relish the opportunity to work in a cross-Government taskforce that is seeking to turbocharge Australia's post COVID-19 economic recovery through attracting high-value businesses and exceptional talent to Australia.

In this position, the candidate will utilise their specialist health sectoral knowledge to drive the taskforce's identification and engagement of high-yield businesses and exception talent. Candidates will work with their colleagues in a high-tempo and high-pressure team to attract businesses and talent to Australia.

Specific Duties / Responsibilities

Utilise and apply deep knowledge of the health sector, including through research and analysis to deliver against the taskforce's remit:

  • Undertake independent research and analysis and deliver high quality written reports on sectoral specialty
  • Monitor information and reporting from a range of sources relevant to the sectoral specialty
  • Drive, manage and coordinate cross-agency collaboration on area of specialty

Engage and collaborate with a range of stakeholders:

  • Engage and consult with industry and state and territory governments
  • Advise the Senior Executive on strategic issues influencing the operations of the taskforce
  • Lead the development of briefings and submissions on taskforce performance and delivery
  • Represent the taskforce at executive level meetings and committees

Provide Strategic Direction:

  • Anticipate and establish priorities, monitor progress and work to deliver taskforce objectives
  • Set priorities and monitor workflow for staff in teams

Oversee the preparation of high-quality briefing and reports:

  • Direct the preparation of briefings and reports for the Secretary and Senior Executive
