About the role:

The EL2 Director Clinical Advice and Design is responsible for improving evidence-based decision making within The Agency, finding solutions to high priority issues in the delivery of services and supports through research and evaluation effort and playing a leadership role in driving and shaping national and international disability research to maximise its impact for the Agency.

This is a team leadership position within the Agency and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail. The role is required to provide leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the team membership and assigned Contractors working within the Work Area.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the development of high-quality practice-based research which reflects the operations of the Agency while maintaining an understanding and consideration of sensitive organisational and political issues
  • Oversee the production of evidence-based collateral which incorporates a clinical perspective for review and publication
  • Scop, plan and oversee the preparation and review of clinically focussed research reports, briefing papers, speeches, Ministerial responses and discussion papers for Government, Agency Board, Executive and senior management
  • Incorporate risk and implementation considerations in clinical design
  • Provide support to the implementation of Agency reforms, including internal and external stakeholder engagement, communications and training
  • Lead and manage a high performing team to deliver the evidence synthesis and innovation program of work as part of the delivery of the Research and Evaluation Branch Strategy

  • Experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations
  • Experience working within an Agile project environment
  • Experience in implementing agile project methodologies in large organisations
  • Demonstrated experience in managing each project's scope and timeline
  • Experience in Facilitating internal communication and effective collaboration
  • Experience in coordinating and assisting in the management of complex cases
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • The Agency Worker Screening Check. This is only applicable to some positions within the Agency that require the occupant to have access to classified Australian Government information.
  • Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one
